ARTS 111 - Career Development and Decision-Making

ARTS 111 is a course designed to assist students in understanding themselves, the career development process, and occupational information in order to make informed occupational and educational decisions. Students will study key career development theories and learn how to integrate self-knowledge into occupational/life decisions, set goals, and devise strategies to attain these goals.

A valuable resource for information on the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, national exams, the HR profession, international HR trends, and upcoming HR events

  • Grand Valley Human Resources Professional Association (GVHRPA)

    Grand Valley HRPA has over 730 members in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Brantford, Stratford and surrounding areas. Their members represent over 400 local organizations in the manufacturing, public, and service sectors. Membership has many benefits!

  • Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA)

    HRPA re-introduces professional experience requirement for CHRP (May 14, 2009): HRPA has reintroduced a requirement of three years of experience in human resources at a professional level as a prerequisite for attainment of the CHRP designation in Ontario. See the HRPA website for further information.

    New degree requirement: Effective January 1, 2011 the CHRP designation will only be awarded to applicants who have passed the National Knowledge Exam and the National Professional Practice Assessment and have attained a Bachelor’s degree from a university or an applied degree from a community college. At that time, a degree will also be required for CHRP candidates registering to write the National Professional Practice Assessment.
