Clinical Psychology - Accreditation Information

Accreditation Information

The Clinical Psychology Program at the University of Waterloo was one of the first clinical psychology programs to be accredited in Canada. Our Clinical Psychology Program was accredited for the first time by CPA in the 1986/87 academic year, and by OPA in the years previous to that. We have been accredited by APA since August 15, 1960. Most recently, in May of 2008, our Clinical Program was re-awarded accreditation for a five-year period (the longest possible) by both the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) and the American Psychological Association (APA). The Site Visit Report observed that "the focus on scientific and clinical training in the Programme is exceptionally well-balanced and integrated. It continues a strong tradition of high quality training with the addition of promising creative new faculty".
